Biography

Donald Wendt, Certified Physician Assistant and Athletic Trainer, was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois. He graduated from the former Stephen Decatur High School and continued his education locally at Millikin University graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. He earned a graduate assistant position in Athletic Training at the University of Illinois which included responsibilities of teaching the undergraduate classes and caring for musculoskeletal injuries among the U of I recreational athletes. Upon earning a Master of Science in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology, he began working as a Certified Athletic Trainer for Decatur Memorial Hospital Sports Medicine obtaining extensive experience managing patient's musculoskeletal injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. He worked in the Decatur Memorial Hospital Emergency Care Center after graduation from the Physician Assistant Program at Southern Illinois University. He and his wife Amy enjoy spending time together as a family with their four children. Dr. Jones has personally trained Donald in the specialty of Orthopaedics.
